Thanks for reading! Welcome to your nightmare, survivor! Zombie shelter is a tower-defense based game mode in which you need to build and improve your own zombie shelter to survive zombie attacks as days go by.
This guide includes everything you need to understand and enjoy this game mode, basic aspects of gameplay, strategy for beginners and also some advanced tips. I hope you find it usefull and instructive. The objective of the game is to survive long enough to kill the final target one of the Zombie Scenario bosses. Once you kill it, you win and the game ends. However, if zombies reach your shelter and they destroy it, you lose.
If you don't kill the final target within 30 days, you will also lose. The game takes place in a large map where lots of zombies are wandering around. While avoiding zombies, explore the city and collect as many resources as you can. After few minutes, the night will fall, zombies will become stronger and more aggresive and they will start running towards your shelter, so it's time to defend your shelter at all costs.
Upon the sunrise, zombies will become weaker again. This cycle is repeated until the game ends, but the more days it passes, the stronger zombies will be. In order to survive zombie attacks, you will need to improve your shelter. Collect any resources you find in the city so you and your teammates can use them to build usefull constructions to defend the shelter like turrets, barricades, towers, Once your shelter is fully equiped, get ready to fight, buy weapons and head to the final boss zone with your teammates.
Attack the boss until you kill him, depending on how strong your weapons are, you may need several days to kill the boss. Remember, the objective is to kill the final boss within 30 days. They will automatically die after some time if you stop the noise. You can obtain money by killing zombies and zombie turrets or breaking an ATM. Mental gauge : It represents how hungry you are. When you are away from shelter this gauge will start decreasing slowly. If it empties you will see that your field of vision is reduced like you can see in the picture and you will suffer damage over time.
You can refill it by returning to your shelter or building a campfire. Carried resources : It shows the number of resources you are currently carrying 20 wood, 21 steel and the maximum number of resources you can carry 30 wood, 21 steel See "Resources" below HP hit points : This is your current HP, if it falls to 0, you die. You will lose HP if you are attacked by a zombie, fall from high place or your mental gauge is empty. You can recover it by standing near a medical facility, campfire or inside your shelter if it is tier 2 or tier 3 shelter.
See "Constructions and shelter upgrading" below. Resources can be found all over the map, they are essential to build constructions. When you find them, just hit them with your tool to pick them up. Each time you hit them, 1 unit will be collected unless you have harvest skill, in that case you can collect 2, 3 or 4 units per hit, see "skills" below.
You can carry a maximum amount of wood and steel, so you will need to store your resources to be able to pick up more. To store your resources, you have a public warehouses system , that all players can use to store or take resources. Simply aproach to a warehouse or to the fridge you'll find inside your shelter and press E to store or take resources. There is a maximum capacity of 10 wood and 10 steel units by default, but it can be increased by building more warehouses.
In the picture below you can see all the information displayed about resources. Once you have enough resources and power you can start building. Press B anywhere in the map to open the building menu. What you see in that menu is everything that can be built and the number of resources and electric power you need is shown below each construction picture.
You need to be carrying the resources you require to build most of constructions, except for public constructions towers, shelter tech and main shelter upgrade , in that case, required resources will be automatically deducted from warehouse.
Click on the construction you want to build and choose the place where you want to place it. Then hit it using left button until it is completely built. If you want to remove it, hit it with right button until it is destroyed. Resources you spent on it won't be returned. There are plenty of different constructions you can do, but almost all of them need electricity to work, so you will need to build generators before any other thing.
Furthermore, you cannot build everything you see in the building menu, some of the constructions need to be unlocked before by upgrading the shelter. The shelter can be a tier 1, tier 2 or tier 3 shelter. Tier 1 shelter is the one you start with, and tier 3 shelter is the best. When you upgrade the shelter, max HP of shelter will be increased and some constructions will unlock. To upgrade the shelter you need to collect all required resources and store them in warehouses. The exact number can be seen in the 4th column of building menu 40 wood, 35 steel, 15 power for tier 2, 70 wood, 70 steel, 20 power for tier 3.
You also need to build the worktable before being able to upgrade to tier 2 and communication tower before tier 3 both constructions can be found on "Team build: Shelter tech" in building menu. Most buildings can be built anywhere in the map, except towers, generators and shelter tech constructions, that can only be built in specific locations near the shelter marked with white stripes on the ground.
You can only build up to 2 towers and 4 generators where it is marked. Here they are all the constructions: Construction. It contains 3 variants: Wooden tower Steel tower , can supply ammo for your weapons Concrete tower , can supply ammo for your weapons and has a M2HB stationary machine gun. Only a player with engineer skills can build them. They are: Worktable : After building, you will be able to upgrade your shelter to tier 2. It also allows you to craft special items when you have crafting skill see "skills" below Communication tower : After building, you will be able to upgrade your shelter to tier 3.
It will also display a radar on the top left of screen that shows zombies position and market location. Concrete refinery : It will unlock some constructions. This is how skills work: You have a limited number of skill points that you can spend on skills to learn them. You have 3 skill points at the beginning but you will earn 1 additional skill point daily. Use them all everyday to benefit of the advantages they bring as much as possible. Once you use a skill point, you won't be able to move it to other skills , so choose the skills correctly.
You can only reset the position of all skill points by clicking " Skill reset " button at the bottom of the table, but only if you have enough money. Skills are divided into 3 main groups: Battle, Survival and Technology. You can spend skill points in any skill, it doesn't matter which group they belong to. The skills on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th row are tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 skills.
As well as with constructions, you can only use tier 1 skills at the beginning. You can unlock next tier skills by spending at least 3 skill points on skills from the same group Battle, Survival or Technology.
